Okay, up front: this does not have much to do with writing and healing, or only in a very peripheral way. (You could, I suppose, eat this while you were writing. And, then too, cranberries are healing--a good source of a flavonoid called quercetin that possesses anti-inflammatory properties--a fact which can be found, along with many other fun facts in a book called SuperFoods: Fourteen Foods that Will Change Your Life, one of my favorite books on nutrition.)
But my cranberry sauce discovery, made yesterday morning, is just too big to keep to myself, whether or not it relates to writing and healing. So, leftover cranberry sauce. Use it on oatmeal! You can make oatmeal (stone-cut is best but any kind will do). Then add slivered almonds, a bit of brown sugar—and the aforementioned cranberry sauce. It’s good. And, get this—three of the fourteen SuperFoods—oats, almonds and cranberries—in a single bowl---
